What Must I Do To Be Saved? There are questions and then there is the question! Folks go around asking questions all day long. Sometimes the answers are satisfying and sometimes they aren't . Yet on and on they go in a quest for knowledge. But there is one question not being asked near enough. "What must I do to be saved?" Salvation and the hope of heaven go far beyond all the worldly knowledge one could gain. Sadly, many find their answers about salvation on different roads without truly asking the ONE who offered salvation in the first place - God. God loved us even though we were sinners (Romans 5:6-8) and Jesus Christ (the son of God) died horribly on a cross to pay the debt for us. He rose from the dead to prove He is the Son of God (Romans 1:4.) Consider the evidence. Believe that Jesus is the son of God and confess that faith (Romans 10:10.) Upon being convinced about Jesus, repent of sins (Luke 13:3) and be baptized (Mark 16:16.) Jesus said so and if one is really convinced that Jesus is the son of God, obeying Him is no trouble at all. Finding the answer to the title question is not hard to do for the Bible contains the answer. Knowing the answer and doing something about it are two different things. The bigger question should be, "What will I do about it?" While God offers salvation to all people, individual response is required. The operative word in the title question is "I." Unless action is taken by each person, salvation and the hope of heaven wil not be achieved. In the words of the preacher, "What are you waiting for? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord." (Acts 22:16.) Good question - What are you waiting for? |
